On January 17, 2024, the Research Office of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences along with the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute hosted the inaugural Research Platforms Fest in the lower atrium of the Bellini Life Science Complex.

The event aimed to promote the world-class technologies and services of Core Platforms to members and partners of the McGill community, and help foster community engagement with Core Platforms for expert advice from leading scientists. The day offered Core Platform directors and personnel a forum to share their successes and challenges with University leadership in attendance, including VP-Dean Lesley Fellows.

With a goal of 100 attendees, the event well exceeded this number, as students, staff, Faculty, hospital affiliates and external partners joined the presentations of 22 Research Platforms, as well as coffee and refreshments, user success stories, a pizza lunch, expo booth visits, followed by an evening wine and cheese gathering.  See photo gallery below.

The organizers received great feedback from the event, and look forward to hosting an annual Research Platforms Fest. Thanks to all those who attended and a special thanks to the Core Platforms directors who showcased their expertise, exceptional scientific leadership and research.
