McGill Med 2 students Adam Hart and Dorota Kadlubowska were chosen to participate in the 2nd Canadian National Medical Student Research Symposium, held in Winnipeg in early June.
Both students had won poster prizes during the 2009 McGill Student Research Day and had the opportunity to present their research at the Symposium.
Dorota’s research focused on a pilot cancer drug study in mice. In particular, she is interested in how aging affects cancer treatment and in whether a class of drugs called angiogenesis inhibitors could promote metastasis.
Adam Hart, who won second place prize in the clinical research category at the Symposium, developed a contact-free respiration sensor for smart-bed and ambulatory monitoring applications.
