Nearly 500 students from the four Quebec medical faculties and Ottawa University participated in the 2nd Family Medicine Student Symposium, hosted by McGill University.

Organized by the McGill chapter of the Family Medicine Student Interest Group (FaMSIG), the day included workshops at the Arnold and Blema Steinberg Simulation Centre and conferences at the McIntyre Medical Sciences Building. Dr. Vania Jimenez, medical director at the CSSS de la Montagne gave the keynote address and Quebec Minister of Health and Social Services, Yves Bolduc, spoke to the group of assembled students. Representatives from partner organizations were on hand to provide information on residencies and related family medicine issues.

The aim of the Symposium was to showcase among medical students what makes family medicine such a dynamic career choice.
