We are celebrating this year the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Department. of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health. Initially named the Department of Epidemiology and Health, it was first chaired by Dr. J.C. MacDonald. Since 1964, we have undergone a few changes in our name and our mission. For example, Occupational Health represented at various points in McGill’s history a separate entity, but it is now an integral part of our department.
We invite you to join us for a two-day Scientific Conference to celebrate our Department’s anniversary on Thursday and Friday April 30th and May 1st 2015 at the McGill University Faculty Club. Speakers will comprise internationally recognized researchers, including some of our current and past faculty members. Our opening session will feature a lively discussion involving Deans from several Schools of Public Health from North America and Australia on the role of SPH of in the 21st-Century. Other topics include recent developments in biostatistics, randomized controlled trials, health care and policy research, pharmacoepidemiology, lifecourse epidemiology, global health, and others.
