Dr. Ann C. Macaulay was chosen among researchers working in diverse professional and scientific disciplines based from around the world. The Maurice Wood Award recognizes her career devoted to clinical care, teaching and academic scholarship. As the director of Participatory Research at McGill (PRAM), Dr. Macaulay has greatly improved translation of research findings into clinical care.
Dr. Macaulay has made significant contributions to the study and prevention of type 2 diabetes in the Aboriginal population, namely through her involvement in the Mohawk community of Kahnawake, where she served as a physician for more than 30 years and established a diabetes prevention program.
The Maurice Award is named in honour of Dr. Maurice Wood, an early pioneer and leader in primary care research in North America and founder of the North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG).

Le prix Maurice Wood reconnait sa carrière consacrée aux soins cliniques, à l’enseignement et aux bourses d’études. Comme directrice du Centre de la recherche participative à McGill (PRAM), la Dre Macaulay a énormément amélioré la transmission des résultats de la recherche vers les soins cliniques.
La Dre Macaulay a grandement contribué à l’étude et à la prévention du diabète de type 2 dans la population autochtone, principalement grâce a sa participation du sein de la communauté Mohawk de Kahnawake, où elle a pratiqué comme médecin pendant plus de 30 ans et où elle a également établi un programme de prévention du diabète.
Le prix Maurice Wood est nommé en honneur du Dr Maurice Wood, pionnier et chef de la recherche des soins primaires en Amérique du Nord et fondateur du Groupe de recherche sur les soins de première ligne de l’Amérique du Nord –North American Primary Care Research Group – (NAPCRG).
