We are pleased to announce a Faculty-wide call for applications for the Richard and Sylvia Cruess Faculty Scholar in Medical Education, as outlined below. Applications are due March 28, 2013 for funds to be awarded as of September 1, 2013.
Overall Goal

The goal of this opportunity is to promote excellence and scholarship in medical education by providing a one-year stipend of $15,000 to a faculty member in the Faculty of Medicine, to pursue research and scholarly activity in medical education. It is expected that the Cruess Faculty Scholar will spend a minimum of one day per week at the Centre for Medical Education, participating in Centre activities and pursuing research in medical education.

Deadline for Applications

The deadline for applications is March 28, 2013, for funds to be awarded as of September 1, 2013.

Application Process

To apply, please submit: (1) a copy of your CV; (2) a one-page description of your activities and achievements in medical education to date; (3) a two-page description of what you hope to achieve as a Cruess Faculty Scholar, as well as your proposed topic of research and how you will contribute to the life of the Centre; and (4) a letter of support from your Departmental Chair. At the end of the year, the Cruess Faculty Scholar is expected to provide a written summary of their scholarly work, present their research to members of the Centre for Medical Education, and pursue dissemination in a variety of venues.
