To address the many challenges facing the health care system today, the discipline of nursing has made a concerted push in the past decade to base new nursing practices on research and empirical evidence.

Inspired by these emerging practices and trends in nursing, GRIISIQ (Quebec Interuniversity Nursing Intervention Research Group) and its partners at Ryerson University and Arizona State University have organized the 1st International Symposium on Nursing Intervention. This first-of-its-kind event will bring together researchers and clinicians from around the world to share their work, to explore new avenues of clinical research, promote innovation and inspire change in nursing practice.

Given the breadth of nursing intervention research being conducted on a wide range of populations, from newborns to the elderly, and targeting areas of concern like pain, anxiety, obesity, child development and chronic illness management, this dynamic exchange will, in turn, have important implications for research, practice and policy in the future.
