The fight against cancer truly is a race against the clock. For the doctors who are battling this scourge, every day counts. Thanks to a donation from a Montreal billionaire, a medical team at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) has managed to reduce waiting times for lung cancer treatment by nearly 25%. Their efforts show that an in-depth reorganization of the way they work has made it possible to significantly reduce delays in healthcare. The results of this pilot project were presented in La Presse on July 18, 2012 for the first time.
