The McGill Faculty of Medicine will launch its new undergraduate medical curriculum in September of 2013. The current curriculum, developed in the 1990s, has been updated based on recommendations from the McGill Faculty of Medicine strategic planning report (“Toward a New Curriculum: Outline of a Strategic Plan for a Revised McGill Medical Undergraduate Curriculum”) and the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada report (“The Future of Medical Education in Canada – Medical Doctor Project”). The new MDCM curriculum has been developed following extensive consultations with different stakeholders, including a review of best practices in learning theory and ways of incorporating modern technologies into renovated classroom spaces.
