It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Shakir Ladha to the position of Interim Senior Advisor, Human Resources, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University.
Shakir brings to the position over twelve years of experience in the area of human resources, including the valuable contributions he has made to the Faculty of Medicine’s Human Resources office since 2009. During this time, Shakir has been responsible for the staffing of managerial and administrative positions within the Faculty and for labour/staff relations. He has also played key roles in the development and implementation of strategic HR initiatives.
A member of the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations (CCHRA), Shakir completed a B.Com. in Management of small and medium businesses in 1997, as well as a certificate in International Business in 1998, both at HEC-Université de Montréal. He also holds a certificate in Industrial Relations from Université de Montréal.
Under my direction, Shakir will provide leadership and strategic and operational management of the Faculty’s HR office and activities, ensuring a high standard of excellence. He will support the VP-Dean and other senior Faculty members, giving counsel aligned with the Faculty’s strategic focus and the University’s mission and HR policies.
