La Vie en Rose, through its Roses of Hope Foundation, donated $12,500 to The Rosalind & Morris Goodman Cancer Research Centre affiliated to McGill University, which will go towards breast cancer research. The donation took place at a La Vie en Rose boutique in Montreal, in the presence of the retailer’s store employees and the beneficiary’s representatives.

“It was important to us to involve the boutique’s employees in the donation ceremony as they are responsible for most of the funds we raise for our Roses of Hope Foundation,” says Mr. François Roberge, President and CEO of La Vie en Rose and Board Member of the Roses of Hope Foundation. “We are proud of our employees who each year participate in our various fundraising activities, promote the Foundation products sold in stores to our customers and inform them about the Foundation.”

“I want to express my sincere appreciation to La Vie En Rose for their generosity in support of Breast Cancer Research,” expresses Dr. Morag Park, Director of the Rosalind & Morris Goodman Cancer Research Centre and Professor at McGill University. “Their generous donation will benefit the development of new studies to identify therapeutic targets in the tumour microenvironment”

The donation is part of a wider pledge made by the company last October, which was to donate $60,000 to breast cancer research groups located in 5 different Canadian regions. The Roses of Hope Foundation raises its funds mainly through the La Vie en Rose boutiques present across Canada, which makes it important to the company to distribute donations in as many parts of the country as possible. In total, eight research groups and one support organization are sharing the $60,000.
