Dr. Nitika Pant Pai participated in an Innovation Panel discussion as well as presenting on her international work with the HIVSmart! app at the Forum on Microbial Threats, U.S. National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C., in December 2019. This prestigious forum brings together leaders from government agencies, industry, academia, and nonprofit and philanthropic organizations to stimulate original thinking about the most pressing issues across the spectrum of microbial threats.

“I great enjoyed presenting my work there,” says Dr. Pai. “It was a chance to engage brilliant global minds, in very meaningful discussions on scaling up social and health innovations from academia and inclusion of impact work, beyond the classic metrics of publishing, for academic promotions.”

Dr. Pai is a scientist in the Infectious Diseases and Immunity in Global Health Program at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and conducts research at the Centre for Research Outcomes and Evaluation. She is also an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, at McGill University.
