The Department of Continuing Medical Education of the Department of Psychiatry of McGill University, in collaboration with other organizations, are planning a one-day retreat on Friday, April 13, 2012 (9:00am-5:00pm, New Residence Hall) to address the issue of health care to the Quebec Inuit Population.

Our hope is to provide a forum for some key figures from the Inuit population to tell us what they see as the current problems they face, what interventions have, or have not, worked in the past, and where we move from here. We also hope to provide a panel consisting of key people from within our federal government, provincial government, and various organizations involved in the delivery of health care to the Inuit, as well as interested clinicians and researchers, all with the aim of re-examining how best to provide care to this population, all the while emphasizing the resilience of the Inuit in the face of daunting challenges that they have had to endure.
