We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Meralli Global Health Innovation Award, created in honour of McGill alumnus Farouk Meralli, whose visionary contributions have profoundly shaped the field of global health.

Mr. Meralli is the founder and CEO of SwipeRx, a pioneering healthtech platform that connects over 50,000 pharmacies and 300,000 pharmacy professionals across Southeast Asia, collectively serving more than 150 million patients. His work exemplifies the power of technology to close critical gaps in healthcare access across the Global South.
Prior to founding SwipeRx, he held senior roles at Pfizer, Sanofi, and Roche, and has been recognized globally as a Harvard Alumni Public Health Innovator, a UBS Global Visionary, and an Endeavor Entrepreneur. He also co-founded Borderless World Volunteers, a nonprofit advancing youth-led global health initiatives, while at McGill.
Mr. Meralli holds a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences and International Development Studies from McGill University and a Master’s in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Run by the McGill Global Health Programs office, the Meralli Global Health Innovation Award will support exceptional undergraduate and graduate students at McGill who demonstrate outstanding leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurial vision in global health, honouring Mr. Meralli’s legacy and empowering future changemakers.
