poster+vendors.pptxMFM is a new initiative spearheaded by the Advanced BioImaging Facility (ABIF), the Cell Imaging and Analysis Network (CIAN) and the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) Microscopy Core that will provide public awareness, recycling, and elimination of mercury based light sources for microscopy.

The session will include:
Introduction to the MFM initiative and the McGill Sustainability Projects Fund
Presentation of alternatives to mercury-based illumination sources
Scientific data comparing several illumination systems to traditional mercury based lamps
Vendor Exhibits of currently available state-of-the-art mercury free technologies

When: September 11, 2013 from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Where: McIntyre Medical Sciences Building (3655 Promenade Sir William Osler), Martin Amphitheatre (Room 504) and foyer
