
As part of our Spring Convocation 2025 coverage, we asked graduates from our six Schools to share their experiences of completing a degree in McGill’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Here, we meet Class of 2025 member Mohamad Chehab from the Department of Family Medicine. What did you love most about studying at McGill’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences?
Studying at McGill’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences was a memorable experience because of the bountiful learning resources and support and the highly supportive environment.
If you could change one thing in the world to make it better, what would you choose?
Making higher education more accessible to those in pursuit of it.
Please share a particularly proud or challenging moment from your degree?
Determining the research question for my thesis was a challenging process that I managed to overcome thanks to the support of my mentor, Bertrand Lebouché, MD, PhD, and his team (Kim Engler, PhD, and David Lessard, PhD).
Your fave study spot?
My fave study and hangout spot was the student lounge on the second floor of the Department of Family Medicine on Côte-Des-Neiges.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Dr. Bertrand, Kim and David for their patience and support on this journey.
Top tip for incoming students in your program?
Pursuing an M.Sc. degree can be overwhelming sometimes, so focus on the tasks at hand and always seek support from your academic supervisor and their team.
What’s next for you?
I am currently pursuing a research position at one of Canada’s universities while contemplating the possibility of pursuing a PhD.
