The Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) is currently developing a new section on their website that aims to facilitate businesses and interested research facilities across Canada connecting as a first step towards establishing possible research partnerships and collaborations.

This online initiative is an occasion for McGill to shed the light on our key CFI funded Facilities and available state of the art equipment, and an opportunity for our research community to develop new partnerships or collaborations with the private sector. This website is also envisioned to help academic researchers locate specialized equipment and facilities to advance their own work.

The listing will regroup facilities:

  • Funded by the CFI or using CFI-funded infrastructure
  • Working with or interested in working with the private and public sectors.

The listing is also meant to assist interested researchers or Faculties wanting to:

  • Establish or expand partnerships and collaboration with industry
  • Undertake research contracts with the private and public sectors
  • Optimize the use of CFI-funded infrastructure.

The CFI is now gathering content to build this searchable listing and McGill should be well represented on this website. Once launched, the site will include an option for adding new labs/facilities, updating content or removing entries.

As names of partners (including private partners) may be listed, it is requested that prior written consent be obtained.

A sample entry is available on the CFI website as is access to the downloadable form that must be completed and sent to Dr. Nathalie Foisset, Associate Director, Office of Sponsored Research (nathalie.foisset@mcgill.ca) by the deadline of July 10, 2013 in order to be included in the listing.

NOTE: McGill entries are being coordinated centrally, therefore completed forms should not be sent directly to CFI, but rather to Dr. Nathalie Foisset who will ensure all submissions are complete and then forward all to CFI on behalf of the University.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Foisset at nathalie.foisset@mcgill.ca or 514-398-8965.
