Masahiro Morita, a post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Nahum Sonenberg’s lab in the Department of Biochemistry, has received the McGill MedStar Award. His award-winning article “mTORC1 Controls Mitochondrial Activity and Biogenesis through 4E-BP-Dependent Translational Regulation” was published in Cell Metabolism.
Masahiro Morita’s work improves our understanding of the molecular mechanism of regulation of cellular metabolic homeostasis, which may contribute to the development of anti-tumor drugs.
The McGill MedStar Award recognizes the excellence of research done at McGill’s Faculty of Medicine by post-doctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students, and residents in all fields and disciplines covered by the Faculty.
Congratulations Masahiro!
