On Monday, January 18, 2016, Dr. Lawrence Rosenberg, President-Director General of the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal was joined at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) by Health Minister Gaetan Barette and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Pierre Arcand, for a press conference to inaugurate Pavilion K, the JGH’s new critical-care unit. During the press conference, Barrette pledged to “fully” fund the Jewish General Hospital.
The event marked the final phase of the JGH’s new wing, which promises more efficient and high-tech emergency and acute-care health care in intensive care, cardiology and neonatal care. The new emergency room in Pavilion K opened in February 2014.
