Dear Colleagues,

Please note the next Faculty Council meeting takes place December 6, 2016, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., in the Martin Amphitheatre, McIntyre Building, the complete agenda of which is online. In addition to our guest speaker, McGill Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), Prof. Manfredi, I would like to call your attention to Section III of the agenda, Project Renaissance: Envisioning the Faculty’s Future. This agenda item marks the beginning of the next Faculty-wide strategic planning exercise.

Many will recall the previous exercise, Thinking Dangerously, launched in 2008, which produced the new MDCM program and strategic research plan, and improved the academic status of clinician teachers. It officially comes to a close in the spring of 2017, when the first class to enroll in the new MDCM program graduates.

The next exercise, to be carried out over the coming months, will include broad consultation, starting with the December meeting. I look forward to discussing the Faculty’s strategic direction and priorities with you then, along with other key agenda items.

The Faculty Council meeting is open to all members of the Faculty of Medicine, including students and residents, and will be recorded. It will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m.

To rsvp, email: rsvpevents.medicine@mcgill.ca.
