Dr. Madhukar Pai of the McGill International TB Centre says that drug-resistant tuberculosis is a problem created by humans and is a sign of system failures.
In a story published on the Al-Jazeera web site, Pai says that incorrect regimens, poor quality drugs, lack of treatment adherence, and inadequate testing of drug-susceptibility leads to drug resistance.
