Dr Leslie L. Kovacs, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, since 1972 passed away on July 23, 2008 at home after a long illness. Although very modest, Dr Kovacs was a leading member of the Department of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine who distinguished himself by his quiet efficiency, his old world grace and his sense of humor.

Dr Kovacs had been associated with the Royal Victoria Hospital for 50 years and led the Association of Physicians for almost four decades.

An outstanding clinician, Dr Kovacs was loved by his patients, his colleagues and staff for his skill, his kindness and his compassion.

No funeral is planned, but donations are being accepted in his name through the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation.

A Hospital memorial service will be planned in the coming weeks.
