In Memoriam: Dr. Annette Herscovics (1938-2008)

Dr. Annette HERSCOVICS (Also known as Antoinette Gelbert). Peacefully at St. Mary’s hospital after a long battle with cancer Saturday, September 6, 2008. Beloved mother of Philippe (Phil) Herscovics. Admired mother-in-law of Jackie Mercer. Adored grandma of Max, Alex and Zara. Violinist, biochemist and professor at McGill University Centre for Cancer Research (1963 – PhD, McGill), Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, born in Paris and hidden child survivor of the Holocaust. She touched many people’s lives and will be sadly missed. Graveside service on Monday, September 8 at 3 p.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at her home on Monday, following the service, through Tuesday evening.
