Federal budget public consultation: Speak up!

The Fundamental Science Review published in April 2017 highlights a critical need for increased federal funding in Canadian research. The scientific community has been very vocal in their support for the Review and its 35 recommendations since its release, and they need your help to ensure that the 2018 federal budget includes science funding as a priority investment.

To support Canadian science and research you can:

(1) Participate to the #YourBudget2018 survey organized by the Minister of Finance. This survey takes only a few minutes and includes direct questions about support for science (Survey 2 – Economy of tomorrow). Please take the time to highlight this as a priority in driving Canada’s economy: https://www.budget.gc.ca/2018/prebudget-prebudgetaire/index-en.html

(2) Participate in the #Students4thereport campaign organized by the students from Science & Policy Exchange by signing the open letter (1200+ signatures and has been endorsed by 21 students unions and associations representing 300,000+ students). All members of the research community can sign! Science & Policy Exchange is also collecting video testimonials (to view some of the published ones click here) and encourage you to make your voice heard on social media using the hashtags #Students4theReport, #SupportTheReport, and #YourBudget2018.
