TO ALL FACULTY MEMBERS, LEARNERS AND GRADUATES:

Note that we have extended our current submission deadline for the McGill Clinical Innovation Competition (CLIC) to Monday, March 28 at noon. This new deadline will give our CLIC applicants 10 extra days to work on their proposals and will avoid conflicts with other funding agency deadlines.

2022 McGill Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Clinical Innovation Competition

Inspired by Dr. Raymond Hakim, the vision behind the McGill Clinical Innovation Competition (CLIC) is to inspire members of our Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences community to conceive and develop promising ideas that will have a direct and positive impact on Canadian and/or global health care.

Now in its fifth year, we are grateful to our generous donors for sponsoring the prizes below, which consist of a monetary award, services and credits to support the development of proof of concept and preparation for commercialization or implementation:

•        The Hakim Family Innovation Prize recognizes ideas, new processes or devices in health care with potential to have a tangible and meaningful impact on the patients entrusted to our care.

•        The Marika Zelenka Roy Innovation Prize, launched in partnership with the Montreal General Hospital Foundation, consists of two awards. The first award recognizes the best solution to an unmet clinical need for the care of a patient with the highest likelihood of success in being translated. The second award recognizes an innovation that improves patient safety/quality, or addresses an unmet clinical need, through simulation.

•        The MI4 Innovation Prize, sponsored by the McGill Interdisciplinary Initiative in Infection and Immunity, aims to support innovative solutions that focus on infectious and immune threats to human health. Two winners will be chosen for this prize.

•        The Bereskin & Parr Innovation Prize recognizes the clinical innovation that has the greatest promise of a commercial value proposition.

Proposals submitted to the McGill CLIC will be reviewed by a panel of judges, and finalists will be selected to “pitch” their ideas during the CLIC event to be held on May 10, 2022.

To learn more about eligibility, the timeline and criteria, “CLIC” here. The new deadline to submit is March 28, 2022. We look forward to receiving your submission.

All CLIC applicants were offered free online training to enhance the commercial viability of their proposal. If you missed the preparatory workshops and would like to watch the recordings, please email: innovation.med@mcgill.ca.
