Dr. Sam J. Daniel has been elected to fill the position of Director of the Office of Professional Development for the Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec (FMRQ)

A graduate of McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine in Otolaryngology as well as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Dr Daniel rapidly forged a reputation for himself as a renowned surgeon. He also assumed various functions, in particular as Director of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the MUHC-Montreal Children’s Hospital and as Director of the Pediatric Otolaryngology Department of McGill University. In addition to his duties as an associate professor for McGill University’s Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery since 2009, he is also a member of various committees.

Dr Daniel has a recognized expertise in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and in adult education. He is a member of the FMSQ’s Office of Professional Development Advisory Committee and the Director of CPD for the Association of Oto-rhino-laryngology and Maxillo-facial Surgery of Quebec. He was also chosen as a CPD educator by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in July 2010. Dr Daniel will undertake his duties at the Federation on November 2, 2012.

The FMRQ is certain that his passion for medicine, strategic planning, and research and development in CPD will be first-class assets that will contribute to the success of the Federation’s mission.
