Dr. Ariane Marelli is the recipient of the Prix d’excellence from the 4th International Conference of Preventive Cardiology. This prize of excellence is awarded to the researcher who receives the highest ranking on their grant application in the field of preventive cardiology.

The International Conference on Preventive Cardiology and Lipidology was held in Venice, Italy from November 14-16, 2012. The conference aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of Preventive Cardiology and Lipidology, and discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted.

Dr. Marelli is a cardiologist at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and founding director of the MUHC’s innovative McGill Adult Unit for Congenital Heart Disease Excellence (MAUDE). Her research interests focus on an emerging population in a relatively new sub-specialty of adult Cardiology. Dr. Marelli’s goal is to provide factual data on which recommendations for health care delivery can be based and hopes to contribute to the unique perspective which will come from comparing the impact of changing outcomes in tertiary care centers to those of regional populations.
