After 26 years of dedicated service to the Jewish General Hospital (JGH), Dr. Andre Dascal has been appointed Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Dascal began his career at the JGH in 1987, after completing his Infectious Diseases and Microbiology Fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Upon his return to Montreal, he joined the Infectious Diseases/Microbiology unit at the JGH. In addition, Dr. Dascal serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine and an Associate Member of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University. He is also the Infectious Diseases and Microbiology Consultant to the Department of Public Health of the Montreal Health and Social Services Agency.

“We wish Dr. Dascal success in all his endeavours,” says Dr. Ernesto Schiffrin, JGH Physician-in-Chief and Professor and Vice-Chair (Research) in the Department of Medicine at McGill University. “His experience as a clinician, teacher, administrator and scientist will greatly contribute to the advancement of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the JGH and at McGill University.”
