Marilena, an engineer by profession, joined our Faculty in 2010, bringing with her 15 years of experience in facilities and operations management acquired in the construction, university, financial and food services industries. In her current role amongst us, Marilena oversaw all operations and renovations related to our large real estate park of 26 buildings. She served as the liaison between our Faculty, Facilities Management, the Facilities Planning Office, Health and Safety and Maintenance Services. She diligently administered renovation projects and equipment and furniture budgets, and performed detailed analysis of space to facilitate and efficiently reallocate staff and equipment in new premises.
Marilena has had a very positive impact on our Faculty and will be greatly missed. We congratulate her on her promotion and wish her much success in her new endeavours.
The recruitment process for Marilena’s successor has started and is of high priority. In the interim, the Building Services team and I will continue to oversee and follow up on current files.
