On May 31, 90 postgraduate medical education (PGME) residents graduating from nine different training sites at the Department of Family Medicine were celebrated at a ceremony held at the Rialto Theatre in Montreal. The event was attended by fellow residents, senior members of the PGME family medicine program, clinical supervisors, and administrative staff from each of our university family medicine groups (U-FMGs). The event was an opportunity to recognize the achievements of the graduating residents, each of whom received their McGill certificate and a small gift.

Fanny Hersson-Edery, MD, PGME Program Director at the Department of Family Medicine, opened the ceremony and acknowledged the hard work that the residents had put in to get to graduation day. Marion Dove, MD, Chair of the Department of Family Medicine, Robert Carlin, MDCM, Assistant Program Director (Curriculum), and Sandra Morris, MD, Associate Program Director (Assessment and Evaluation) were also in attendance to congratulate the graduating residents.

The evening ended with a cocktail reception and a music performance by a jazz trio from the Schulich School of Music.

Thank you to Julie Lane, PGME Program Manager, Alana Walsh-Ferland, PGME Program Administrator and Talithea McInnis, newly-hired PGME Student Affairs Coordinator, who organized a tremendous event for our graduating residents!
