Her story is that of a brilliant young student from Moncton, New Brunswick. Her mother a lawyer, her father was a professor of psychology at the University of Moncton, where he would become dean and then vice-principal. For university she decides to attend McGill University to study anatomy. She would later complete her doctorate in neuroscience, also at McGill.
