In light of an expanding mandate and a commitment to ensure inclusive and transparent Faculty governance, Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), McGill Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, is seeking one clinical faculty member to join the following committee in the role of faculty member with experience as a Program Director:
- Postgraduate Medical Education Accreditation Committee
Representative: Postgraduate Medical Education Accreditation Committee.
The nominee should be a clinical faculty member within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The PGME Accreditation Committee term of representation is three (3) years, renewable. The Committee meets four (4) times per year. The Chair may convene additional meetings when necessary.
About the Postgraduate Medical Education Accreditation Committee
The PGME Accreditation Committee (the Committee) is mandated by the Assistant Dean, PGME Accreditation, to oversee compliance with CanRAC’s General Standards of Accreditation for Residency Programs and the General Standards of Accreditation for Institutions with Residency Programs. The Committee aids in the successful accreditation of the residency programs offered by McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and functions as part of the process of continuous quality improvement.
Procedure for Nominations
All nominations must be submitted online and include a few sentences describing the nominee’s interest and the contributions one believes they would bring to the committee. Submissions will be reviewed by the Faculty Council Nominating Committee, which in turn will make recommendations to the Vice-Principal (Health Affairs) and Dean of Medicine and Health Sciences, David Eidelman.
