Dear Colleagues,

The PGME Accreditation Committee is seeking 6 representative members, as described below. This committee is mandated to oversee the ongoing process of accreditation, as part of PGME’s approach to continuous quality improvement. The committee will meet at least 4 times per year. Additional meetings may be called in response to specific needs. The term of office for non ex-officio members is 3 years, renewable.

Representative 1: The PGME Accreditation Committee is seeking a faculty member with PGME Educational Leadership experience. An important responsibility of this member would be to bring to the committee his or her experience regarding best practices and the evolving scope and requirements of postgraduate medical education (e.g., Competency-based Medical Education).

Representative 2: The PGME Accreditation Committee is seeking a faculty member with experience as a Clinical Department/Division Chair, who has experience in overseeing divisions/departments and training programs within the clinical context.

Representative 3: The PGME Accreditation Committee is seeking a faculty member with past experience as a Program Director. We are looking for an individual who has experience in residency training program leadership and accreditation.

Representative 4: The PGME Accreditation Committee is seeking a faculty member with interest or experience in Postgraduate Medical Education (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada). We are looking for an individual with some experience in postgraduate medical education and the processes for residency program accreditation and governance.

Representative 5: The PGME Accreditation Committee is seeking a faculty member with interest or experience in Postgraduate Medical Education (College of Family Physicians of Canada). We are looking for an individual with some experience in postgraduate medical

education and the processes for residency program accreditation and governance.

Representative 6: The PGME Accreditation Committee is seeking a resident representative who has an interest in leadership in education at the postgraduate training level.

Procedure for Nominations

All nominations must be submitted online and include a few sentences describing the nominee’s interest and the contributions one believes they would bring to the committee. Submissions will be reviewed by the Faculty Council Nominating Committee, which in turn will make recommendations to the Vice-Principal (Health Affairs) and Dean of Medicine, David Eidelman.
