Dear Colleagues,

In light of an expanding mandate and a commitment to ensure inclusive and transparent Faculty governance, the Office of Interprofessional Education (OIPE), McGill Faculty of Medicine, is seeking three new members to join the following committees:

  • Curriculum Committee
  • Faculty Development Committee for IPE (FacDev-IPE)
  • Innovation and Scholarship Committee

Representative #1: OIPE Curriculum Committee

To represent the faculty perspective, we are seeking one faculty representative from any one of the Faculty’s health professions programs in Communication Science and Disorders, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy. We are looking for an individual who has a demonstrated interest in promoting engagement and collaboration of the faculty, students, clinical partners and other stakeholders to strengthen initiatives and innovation for interprofessional education.

The OIPE Curriculum Committee term of representation is three (3) years, renewable. Meetings are held a minimum of four to five times per year for two hours. Efforts will be made to accommodate members at a distance through tele- or video-conferencing.

Members will be expected to advise and share their perspectives in discussions of new initiatives and innovations regarding the IPE curriculum.

About the OIPE Curriculum Committee

The Curriculum Committee is mandated by the Faculty of Medicine’s Office of Interprofessional Education to design, plan, refine, implement and evaluate existing and new Interprofessional Education Activities (IPEA). Members oversee a quality review process whereby evaluation data are used to modify and improve the delivery of courses and ensure that all educational objectives are met.

Representative #2: Faculty Development Committee for IPE (FacDev-IPE)

To represent the clinical perspective, we are seeking one healthcare professional – nurse, occupational therapist, physical therapist, physician or speech language pathologist – currently practicing at a McGill-affiliated clinical site. We are looking for an individual who has a demonstrated interest in strengthening initiatives for faculty development in interprofessional education.

The FacDev-IPE Committee term of representation is one (1) year, renewable. Meetings are held a minimum of four times per year for two hours. Efforts will be made to accommodate members at a distance through tele- or video-conferencing.

Members will be expected to advise and share their perspectives in discussions of initiatives and innovations regarding the FacDev-IPE program.

About the FacDev-IPE Committee

The FacDev-IPE Committee is mandated by the Faculty of Medicine’s Office of Interprofessional Education to design, plan, refine, implement and evaluate existing and new IPE faculty development initiatives. Members oversee a quality review process whereby evaluation data are used to modify and improve the delivery of all faculty development IPE initiatives. Members participate whenever possible as workshop facilitators.

Representative #3: OIPE Innovation and Scholarship Committee

To represent the research perspective, we are seeking one faculty representative from any one of the health professions program in Communication Science and Disorders, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy. We are looking for an individual who has a demonstrated interest in IPE and experience in advancing research and scholarly activities.

The OIPE Innovation and Scholarship Committee term of representation is three (3) years, renewable. Meetings are held a minimum of four to five times per year for two hours. Efforts will be made to accommodate members at a distance through tele- or video-conferencing.

Members will be expected to advise and share their perspectives in discussions regarding advancing research and scholarly activities related to interprofessional education and practice.

About the OIPE Innovation and Scholarship Committee

The Innovation and Scholarship Committee is mandated by the Faculty of Medicine’s Office of Interprofessional Education to explore opportunities to develop, introduce and evaluate innovations in IPE and Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPCP). Members participate in the development of new IPE initiatives and the dissemination of these advances through presentations and publications.

Procedure for Nominations

All nominations must be submitted online and include a few sentences describing the nominee’s interest and the contributions one believes they would bring to the committee. Submissions will be reviewed by the Faculty Council Nominating Committee, which in turn will make recommendations to the Vice-Principal (Health Affairs) and Dean of Medicine, David Eidelman.
