Dear Colleagues,
In light of an expanding mandate and a commitment to ensure inclusive and transparent Faculty governance, the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) program, McGill Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, is seeking two (2) faculty members from the School of Medicine to join the following committee:
- MDCM Student Success Fund
Representative: MDCM Student Success Fund
The nominees should be faculty members within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The MDCM Student Success Fund term of representation is three (3) years, renewable. The Committee meets two (2) times per year. The Chair may convene additional meetings when necessary.
The Student Success Fund is part of the MDCM Program Committee as a subset of the Wellness and Learning Environment Subcommittee (WaLE). The Fund will develop processes to allocate funds to support UGME student success initiatives. The Student Success Fund will develop an algorithm and metrics to determine the allocation of funds to support undergraduate medical students in the following areas:
- Support of conference attendance fees (face to face or virtual);
- Support of equipment purchases, books, or software;
- Support of Wellness;
- Support for communication mechanisms with students;
- Support for anti-Black racism and anti-Indigenous racism initiatives.
Procedure for Nominations
All nominations must be submitted online and include a few sentences describing the nominee’s interest and the contributions one believes they would bring to the committee. Submissions will be reviewed by the Faculty Council Nominating Committee, which in turn will make recommendations to the Vice-Principal (Health Affairs) and Dean of Medicine and Health Sciences, David Eidelman.
