Dear Colleagues,
In light of an expanding mandate and a commitment to ensure inclusive and transparent Faculty governance, the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) program, McGill Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, is seeking one clinical faculty member to join the following committee in the role of “member at large”:
- MDCM Program Committee
Representative: MDCM Program Committee
The nominee should be a clinical faculty member within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The MDCM Program Committee term of representation is three (3) years, renewable. The Committee meets three (3) times per month, with no less than ten (10) meetings per academic year. The Chair may convene additional meetings when necessary. The meetings are expected to be 60 minutes. Efforts will be made to accommodate members at a distance through tele- or video-conferencing.
The MDCM Program Committee has an executive function and ensures that the MDCM Program is aligned with the Faculty’s mission and complies with relevant UGME accreditation standards. The MDCM Program Committee oversees the curriculum as a whole and is responsible for overall design, management, integration, evaluation and enhancement of a coherent and coordinated medical curriculum. As well, the MDCM Program Committee has oversight over the MDCM curriculum and assessment of student learning.
All nominations must be submitted online and include a few sentences describing the nominee’s interest and the contributions one believes they would bring to the committee. Submissions will be reviewed by the Faculty Council Nominating Committee, which in turn will make recommendations to the Vice-Principal (Health Affairs) and Dean of Medicine and Health Sciences, David Eidelman.
Please note that the deadline for submissions is September 29, 2020. Should you have questions about the nominating procedure, please do not hesitate to contact Leah Moss at leah.moss@mcgill.ca.
