CALL FOR APPLICATIONS – Emerging Scholar in Medical Education at the Centre for Medical Education

Dear Colleagues:

We are pleased to announce a Faculty-wide call for applications for an Emerging Scholar in Medical Education at the Centre for Medical Education, as outlined below. Applications are due November 14, 2016 for funds to be awarded as of July 1, 2017.

The goal of this opportunity is to promote excellence and scholarship in medical education by providing a one-year stipend of $10,000 to a junior faculty member in the Faculty of Medicine, to pursue research and scholarly activity in medical education. It is expected that the Emerging Scholar will spend a minimum of one day per week at the Centre for Medical Education as a Centre Member, participating in Centre activities and pursuing research in medical education.

To apply, please submit: (1) a copy of your CV; (2) a one-page description of your activities and achievements in medical education to date; (3) a two-page description of what you hope to achieve as an Emerging Scholar, as well as your proposed topic of research and how you will contribute to the life of the Centre; and (4) a letter of support from your Departmental Chair. At the end of the year, the Emerging Scholar is expected to provide a written summary of their scholarly work, present their research to members of the Centre for Medical Education, and pursue dissemination in a variety of venues.
