We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Donald Boudreau to the position of Acting Associate Dean, Medical Education and Student Affairs, effective Monday, October 12, 2015. Dr. Boudreau assumes this position as Dr. Robert Primavesi steps aside after close to five years of exemplary service during which he and his team successfully rolled out the greater part of the Faculty’s new MDCM curriculum, among many other achievements. We take this opportunity to thank Dr. Primavesi for his steadfast commitment and contributions during one of the Faculty’s most challenging periods, and for championing the patient- and student-centered approach that is the hallmark of our new program.
Dr. Donald Boudreau is an Associate Professor in McGill’s Department of Medicine, as well as a Professor of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, dedicated to promoting humanism in medicine. He is also a key member of the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) Accreditation Implementation Committee. He has previously served as Associate Dean for Medical Education and Student Affairs and Director of the Office of Physicianship Curriculum Development. Prior to these appointments, he held several leadership positions at both the Faculty and within the McGill-affiliated hospital network. Dr. Boudreau has been involved in medical education at the undergraduate and residency levels for more than 25 years. He is a core member of the McGill Centre for Medical Education. A respirologist by training, Dr. Boudreau has a distinguished record in research and publication, as well as in faculty development and academic engagement.
As Acting Associate Dean, Dr. Boudreau will oversee all administrative operations related to the Office of Medical Education and Student Affairs. He will be responsible for the delivery and management of the academic program and the policies supporting it, while participating in the ongoing rigorous implementation of the UGME accreditation action plan, together with the Accreditation Implementation Committee.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Boudreau in this role, and in wishing Dr. Primavesi the very best in his future pursuits with the Faculty and with McGill.
