The Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr. Réjean Hébert, is pleased to officially announce the appointment of Mr. Claude Desjardins as President and Interim CEO of the Agency for Health and Social Services of Outaouais. He will take office on April 28, succeeding Dr. Guy Morissette, as he returns to medical practice.

Claude Desjardins has several years of experience in the health care system and social services. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Health and Social Services in Laval since 2004, he was also, from 2011 to 2012, Acting CEO of the Agency for Health and Social Services Lanaudière. Prior to joining the Agency Laval, he has held various management functions including, among others, managing director at the Institute of Cardiology of Montreal, Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital (1981-1992), well at Verdun Hospital (1975-1981). In addition to being involved as a member of the board of directors of several organizations related to health, Mr. Desjardins is a clinical lecturer in the Department of Health Administration from the University of Montreal. Claude Desjardins holds a Masters in Hospital Administration from the University of Montreal and is an alumnus of the Graduate School of Business in Montreal.

“Mr. Desjardins is an experienced manager who knows the workings of the public administration and the health care system and social services. His experience as CEO of agencies, combined with the general manager of health facilities are definite assets for the Agency of Health and Social Services of Ottawa.
