McGill Faculty of Medicine Clinical Innovation Competition
This competition, the McGill CLIC, was inspired by Dr. Raymond Hakim with the goal of inspiring McGill Faculty members, learners and graduates to innovate to improve health care and outcomes. The prestigious Hakim Family Prize for Clinical Innovation in Health Care recognizes ideas, new processes or devices in health care with potential to have a tangible and meaningful impact on the patients entrusted to our care.
This year, we are pleased to announce two additional prizes:
• the Marika Zelenka Roy Innovation Prize, launched in partnership with the Montreal General Hospital Foundation, for the innovation providing the best solution to an unmet clinical need for the care of a patient and with the highest likelihood of success in being translated; and
• the Steinberg Centre Simnovation Prize, to recognize a trainee-led (student, resident or fellow) clinical innovation that has the greatest promise to develop into a truly competitive value proposition.
The above prizes consist of both a monetary award and credits to support the development of proof of concept and preparation for commercialization or implementation. Proposals submitted to the McGill CLIC are reviewed by a panel of judges, and finalists are selected to “pitch” their ideas during the CLIC event.
