(Chicoutimi) Years of effort have enabled UQAC researcher Catherine Laprise, PhD in the genetics of asthma, to be rewarded by being given a research grant of just over $ 1 million over five years by the Canadian Institutes of health Research. In her view, it is almost the equivalent to winning the Super Bowl in the field of research.

Professor Laprise and her colleague Tomi Pastinen, a  Finnish researcher from McGill University, learned yesterday morning that the research project they submitted was ranked sixth out of 64 projects received with a score of 4.42 out of 5 evaluated by a peer review committee composed of eminent scientists.
