253 McGill projects received major funding from the Government of Canada to help build a more innovative, inclusive, and resilient future in Canada

On July 10, the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, and the Honourable Marjorie Michel, Minister of Health, announced more than $1.3 billion in funding to support 9,700 researchers and research projects across Canada. Included are 253 McGill projects, resulting in just over $51 million in funding to McGill research.

“This announcement represents continued important investments by the Government of Canada in university research and talent, underscoring the central role that universities play in building a more inclusive, innovative, and resilient Canada,” said Deep Saini, McGill’s President and Vice-Chancellor.
